Time Management is Overrated

Just saying.

Two weeks into my new work now. Two weeks of striving to wake up and get up at exactly 6:00am. Two weeks of rushing breakfast and bath so I can leave before 7:30am. Two weeks of balling my fist and stomping my foot on the jeep, hoping to reach the office by exactly 9:00am despite the heavy rush hour traffic. Two weeks of being in the office from 9:00am to 6:30pm, boxed with literally nowhere to go we’re dead smack in the middle of an industrial park. 6 times a week, that’s right, I work on Saturdays now well, every other Saturday.

These are the changes that occurred when I transferred to my new job. Not to mention, I don’t get to spend that much time with my girlfriend anymore since she lives on the other side of the city and by the time I get there from work, she’s already prepping herself for sleep. All night-time activities that I had set at 8:00pm before, I’m forced to be late now.

Two weeks into my new job and it has me reflecting. It was then that I realized that, hey, I only lost an hour. That there brought me to the conclusion that time management is just overrated. Time is one of the things we don’t have control over. We only have 24 hours daily and no matter how much we want to slow time down, we can’t. It’s going to pan continuously as it usually does. We’re going to lose minutes, hell, hours. It is in-e-vi-ta-ble.

Christmas Gift Idea — A Stroke of Genius That Not Everyone Appreciates

Christmas is right around the corner, 9 days to be exact; and most of us who are kind enough and have the cash haven’t bought gifts yet are biting their nails hoping that when they’ve freed their schedules up, quality stocks of what they’ll buy are still available.

I haven’t bought gifts yet, and the thought of squeezing my way through the season’s heavy traffic and banging bodies in the malls and markets, makes me cringe. So instead of putting myself into that painstaking task I decided to look for stuff at home that I can give! Let me share with you a few guidelines I made up to better define the stuff I can give away, or if you prefer it…recycle.

The Chicboy Scandal

You’re somwhere in Metro Manila with only 100 pesos or a tad over that and you want to eat a hefty meal, where do you go? If you’re someone craving for a Cebu style lechon liempo and the like, then you probably answered Chicboy. With 59 branches believe me, I counted, all-over Luzon 90% of those in Metro Manila and a few open for 24 hours, it’s not difficult to spot one. You probably just ate there or perhaps are planning on going, heck maybe you’re eating in one right now! Since opening in 2010, this devious Mang Inasal twin called Chicboy has grown into somewhat of a conglomerate. However, the past few days have been hard on them, because of a facebook post made by Sigrid Bernardo (I don’t know her either) that hit the internet just this Monday. A post entitled “CHICKBOY SCANDAL” the hell with the spelling, she’s that damn hard, disturbed and angry about it, which now has been shared 8,072 times all-over the local Facebook scene. It was indeed disturbing though.
